About Wisdom Tree Yoga & Healing Arts, LLC
Wisdom Tree Yoga & Healing Arts is dedicated to providing yoga classes, yoga therapy and workshops to adults 50+.
Our mission is to make yoga accessible, particularly for those living with health or other physical challenges.
We believe that . . .
- Aging is not to be feared; it is a natural, beautiful part of life
- It is possible to age with grace and vibrancy. When faced with physical, mental or emotional challenges, yoga provides tools to help us navigate those challenges with wisdom, grace and resilience.
- Just because we have pain does not mean we have to suffer. We can still experience joy and contentment even in the midst of pain and difficulty.
- Knowledge is power: important to understand why and how the practices we use in yoga affect our physiological, psycho-social and mental health.
Each person is unique as defined by her needs and circumstances. These needs include (but are not limited to) the individual’s physical condition and health, mental-emotional makeup, familial and social relationships, career, social and economic status. At Wisdom Tree Yoga, we encourage students to personalize yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation practices, visualization and relaxation practices to meet their needs.
We offer individual yoga therapy session, small therapeutic group classes and workshops for arthritis, joint mobility, back pain, bone health, healthy aging, stress management, balance, and more.

Beverly Davis-Baird, MA, E-RYT200/RYT 500, C-IAYT, owner and founder of Wisdom Tree Yoga, is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) and member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and Yoga Alliance.
Bringing over 30 years of yoga experience, Beverly believes that the practice of yoga should bring spaciousness and release from tension, not create it. As such, she strives to make yoga accessible to people of differing abilities, believing the real benefits of yoga come from what is taken with you outside of class and into your life.
An elementary school teacher for 20+ years, Beverly brings her knowledge of individual learning styles to her teaching, providing instruction that is clear, concise and inclusive. Her teaching encompasses a wide variety of yoga styles, with an emphasis on adapting each class to suit individual needs. She teaches both group and private yoga classes in a variety of settings, including churches, schools, gyms, corporations and private homes. She also works with special needs populations, such as disabled teens, seniors, and young children.
Beverly adapts her classes to meet the spiritual as well as physical needs of her students. Her teaching expertise encompasses vinyasa, therapeutic, restorative, gentle, chair and children’s yoga as well as key teachings from Iyengar, Kripalu, Anasara, Kundalini, Integral and other styles of yoga. She is certified in Kidding Around Yoga™ , Yoga for Healthy Aging, Gentle Yoga for Low Back Care and Yoga for Arthritis™.
Her students describe her as caring, compassionate, intuitive and attentive. “She brings a unique approach to yoga based on her personal faith and intuitive understanding of the spiritual and physical benefits of yoga. Her sessions are wonderful on both a spiritual and physical level.”
Beverly embodies the spirit of both teacher and student, continually studying and taking classes to further her knowledge of anatomy, yoga philosophy, therapeutic modalities and more.
